Rosacea is a skin disorder that affects many people worldwide. Rosacea can be typically characterised by a flushed complexion, and treatment for rosacea is available at our leading salon.

What Is Rosacea?

Rosacea is a chronic skin disorder, with many people across the world seeking effective, non-invasive treatments and procedures. Many people suffer the symptoms of rosacea, such as excessive blushing and redness of the nose, chin and cheeks areas of the face. While there are no known cures for rosacea, there is a fast, powerful solution to reduce or eliminate the redness that is associated with the disorder. If left untreated, rosacea can develop into a ruddier complexion, with blood vessels becoming more prominent and bumps or pimples developing heavily.

Individual cases of rosacea are greatly varied, with most cases only exhibiting some of the potential signs and symptoms. Some of these primary signs are:

Persistent Redness

The most common symptom of rosacea is a persisting red facial complexion, sometimes resembling a sunburn or blush that doesn’t dissipate.

Flushing

A history of frequent blushing or flushing can also be symptomatic, and is often the earliest sign of rosacea.

Bumps and Pimples

Small red bumps or pus-filled pimples will usually develop and can sometimes sting or burn. These symptoms of rosacea differ from acne with the absence of blackheads.

What Is IPL?

IPL, or intense pulsed light, emits specific wavelengths of light to be absorbed by haemoglobin (blood) and dark pigment (melanin). The light energy absorbed is converted into heat within the skin. Depending on the target, the heating of the skin triggers various biological changes to occur, eventually resulting in the reduction of excess pigment, redness or vessels in the skin, while also stimulating collagen production.

How Does It Work?

The waves of light from IPL treat the dilated blood vessels on the affected surface of the face by penetrating and destroying the particles that display rosacea and facial redness. As heat is attracted to dark colours – like wearing black on a sunny day – the waves from the IPL are attracted to any pigmented areas and set in immediately to begin reducing the appearance of conditions such as Rosacea.
